The 1MPH LIFE is the walk of spiritually mature people. They seek to walk with God, living with contentment, gratitude, grace, peace, and joy in all circumstances and situations.

There is no need to rush this kind of life. A slow paced walk with God is savoring the abundant life that Jesus stated that He came to provide.

To us, one mile per hour is painfully slow. It is not that God is slow, but intentional.

He wants us to walk with Him at a pace where we take notice of beauty, take time to reflect and remember, and most of all, take time to listen to His voice. He desires for us to enjoy an intimate relationship with Him.

But why not two miles per hour? Because that is a mundane pace of life. Our surroundings are too familiar to see the uniqueness. Our rut is too worn to notice the movements of God’s grace.

But why not three or four miles an hour? Because the faster paces drive us toward self-centered ambition. We move too fast to see or hear God’s voice. We grow too tired  from trying to keep up with others to recognize and reflect on the faithfulness of God. At five miles or more miles per hour, a person forgets that God cares or even exists, careening dangerously toward self-destruction.

But God is gracious and offers us the 1 MPH Life.
